Facilities
There
are 10 camp facilities in Yakima
County that the living environment
program oversees. This program
issues operating permits, conducts
field inspections, and evaluates
performance to assure public
health and safety standards
are being maintained. Site evaluation
includes general assessment
of sanitation for health and
cleanliness in water quality
(both drinking and swimming
pool), proper sewage disposal,
garbage disposal, structural
integrity, space for living
quarters, food-handling practices,
and general maintenance and
supervision of the premises.
Additionally, camp records are
monitored, a water sample for
bacterial analysis is collected
and educational materials are
provided for vector control
(mosquitoes, bats, mice, etc.),
food-safety, and current recalls
or bulletins that may be in
effect at the time.
