Programs
(The Yakima Health District encourages you to please contact your doctor's office to make an appointment to update your child's immunizations)
The
Yakima Health District Immunization
Program offers a large number
of services to the Yakima
Valley.
- We
maintain contracts and distribe
state provided vaccines
to 47 medical providers
and clinics in Yakima County.
- We
educate providers to ensure
proper vaccine storage,
handling, and administration.
- We
train with multiple Nursing
Schools in the Valley including
Intercollegiate Center for
Nursing Education (ICNE),
YVCC Nursing Program, Medix
Physician Assistant Program,
Medical Assistant Program,
and the Skills Center Medical
and Dental Programs.
- We
attend health fairs and
community events throughout
the county to educate the
community on Vaccine Preventable
Diseases and the importance
of immunizations for all
ages, ranging from newborns
through adults.
- We
provide medical providers
with timely updates on immunization
changes.
- We
provide access to satellite
downlinks that assist nursing
staff in keeping current
on immunizations information.
